Black Eyed Peas Sundal

I like making light snacks in the evening for my husband. I had some black eyed peas in the freezer, so just made this simple recipe
  • 1 cup Frozen black eyed peas
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • Cumin and Mustard seeds for tempering
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin -Corriandar powder
  • Cilantro for garnishing
  • Oil for frying

  • Put some oil in a frying pan
  • Add cumin and mustard seeds
  • Once they start crackling add finely chopped onion
  • Saute till they turn slightly brown
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute
  • Add the red chilli powder
  • Add partially boiled black eyed peas
  • Close the lid and cook for around 5 minutes
  • Open the lid and fry for another 2 mins
  • Turn off the stove and then add Jeera-dhanya powder 
  • Mix properly and garnish with Cilantro
